SACDC Recruiting Board Members

Preferred gateway to northern ontario

The Sudbury Airport Community Development Corporation (SACDC) is seeking engaged and qualified candidates to serve on their Board of Directors. This is a volunteer position with a term appointment of one to three years. A director can serve on the board for up to nine consecutive years. The deadline for all applications is 11:59pm Sunday, March 29th,2026.

The SACDC is a not-for-profit corporation that is responsible for the management and operation of the Greater Sudbury Airport (YSB). It is one of Northern Ontario’s busiest airports. Its’ corporate vision is to be committed to safe, accessible, and customer focused air transportation enabling economic growth in Greater Sudbury through partnerships with business, government, and our community. #FlySudbury

A twelve (12) member Board of Directors works with the CEO to provide strategic direction, risk management, and governance to the corporation. Board meetings are held four to six times a year and there are two committees; a Finance and Audit Committee, and a Governance and Nominating Committee that meet two to four times per year. Board members are expected to participate on at least one of these committees. Information about the SACDC and its leadership can be found here.

About the Sudbury Airport Community Development Corporation

The Sudbury Airport Community Development Corporation is a not-for-profit, non-share capital corporation that manages the Greater Sudbury Airport (YSB). The Greater Sudbury Airport is one of Northern Ontario’s busiest and is currently served by Air Canada, Porter Airlines, Bearskin Airlines, Propair, and new as of 2025, WestJet. Air Canada offers daily flights to and from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport, which provides worldwide connections, while Porter Airlines offers daily service to and from Ottawa International Airport, which connects passengers to various Canadian and U.S. destinations. Regular scheduled flights provided by Bearskin Airlines offer air service to and from many Northeastern Ontario centres, while WestJet provides seasonal service direct to Calgary. In addition to their daily scheduled commercial air service to Ottawa and Montreal, Propair also has weekday charter flights, primarily serving business travelers.
