2024 Operation Sudbury Safe Skies

Sudbury, Ontario: Dubbed “Operation Sudbury Safe Skies,” this monumental, large scale, 12-hour exercise will simulate an aircraft incident on the airport grounds. In addition to airport staff, participants will include the Greater Sudbury Emergency Management Division, and local police, fire services, and EMS crews.

The Greater Sudbury Airport conducted their full-scale emergency and security training exercise last month. The exercise involved six first responder agencies and over 30 volunteers. Transport Canada mandates that Canadian airports test their emergency response plan every three years with a full-scale exercise.
